Crystal Lake, IL- bergsworld.live recently caught up with Crystal Lake South Gators head baseball coach Brian Bogda. Since our conversation, the Gators have started the season 4-0. They have outscored their opponents 35-10. They have quality W’s over IC Prep, Palatine and Barrington. Superb pitching and “lights-out” hitting from Ryan Parquette, Nick Wolski, Griffin Bright and Blake Kueffel have been key to the Gators fast start.

The Bogda-led Gators head to Marion, IL to battle multiple challengers over Spring Break. They include Wauconda, Carbondale, Harrisburg, Mt. Vernon and Frankfort. You can follow the Gators on Twitter @CLSBaseball or at GC.com

Enjoy….

17-18 MCC WBB_#13_GARDNER

Congratulations to Lacey Gardner earning the MCC Student-Athlete of the Month honor for January.  The Spring Grove resident was homeschooled and is a freshman for our Women’s Basketball Team.

Lacey is a 5’11 forward/center for the 2017-18 Scots this winter.  The team currently leads the conference with a 7-1 record and 17-7 overall.  It is one of the best starts for the program in 12 years.  “Lacey has been a played an integral part in this season’s success.  She is averaging 14ppg and 9.5 reb/g and remains a steady part of our defense in the paint as well averaging 2 blocks/g.  Lacey shows a great desire to learn, grow and improve for our team’s success.  She brings a great work ethic and maturity to our team.  I think she has just begun to tap into her true talents,” lauds Head Coach Karen Wiley.

“Lacey has also represented the department with wonderful focus, attention and excellence in the classroom.  She is on track to be named to the ISCC All-Academic team.  We are proud of the high caliber area student-athletes who have chosen to be part of our programs, adds Director of Athletics Karen Wiley.
