Lake in the Hills, IL- I have gotten to know Alex Kube and have found him to be a sincere and generous young man. Kube surely would have been a #YoungGun if I had access to a time machine like Rod Taylor ( IMDb: The Time Machine ). Kube is Cary-Grove HS and Northern Illinois University coached and trained and is without a doubt one of our area’s most successful athletes. He had a couple of opportunities with the NFL (Bears and Vikings) and played in the Arena Football league (Rush).
Join us as we caught up with Alex and his wife Elizabeth as they were returning from a family gathering recently. We discussed his big position change at NIU, a move that had a rippling effect on his football future. Never a complainer, Alex explains the thought process that went into his move from safety to strong side linebacker. We talk about his family and what he sees as his mission for Elite 7 and the young men he works with.
