Boulder Ridge CC Raises $6500 for American Cancer Society

Lake in the Hills, IL– Over 100 club members, their families, friends and employees from Boulder Ridge Country Club helped raise $6500.00 for The American Cancer Society on September 5, 2015. The Boulder Dash was a 5k competitive run and walk for all ages. The event wound through the scenic West Nine of the prestigious 27 hole golf course on a beautiful Fall morning.


Ryan Smith: Another Lattner Grandson Living the Dream


Oxford, OH – Miami Ohio University sophomore Ryan Smith is having a good year. Smith, a tight end, had 2 catches for 34 yards against WMU last Saturday in Kalamazoo. Covered by cousin and linebacker Robert Spillane on a couple plays, both Fenwick HS “14 grads played in front of over 25 proud family members. Grandfather Johnny Lattner (Heisman trophy winner ’53) was in attendance along with his wife Peggy. It was Papa John’s 83rd birthday.

Wearing #82, the 6′ 4″ 261 pound bruiser has soft hands. Smith in 7 games this season has 13 catches for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns. His longest reception was for 32 yards and he averages 24+ yards per game.

Smith said, ” I thought the offense executed well in the first half and we played well as a team but the defense was out on the field too long in the 2nd half.” He continued, ” Coach (HC Chuck Martin) was harping all week to play hard and I think we did.”

On playing in front in of the large family contingent, Smith added ” I was excited to play in front of all my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, all of them. I wanted to go out and make some plays.”

So far this season, he is making the plays for his Redhawks. The future looks very bright.

Kalamazoo, MI – “Rest Easy John Mulhearn” is the emotional video put together by GhostBronco of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Head Coach P.J. Fleck and his team honor 1988 WMU graduate Sean Mulhearn’s son, John, with an absolutely incredible YouTube video. Unfortunately, John recently passed away but WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. God speed John. RIP. John really did Row the Boat!!

Harvard Senior has Night to Remember


Harvard – #80 Easton Hall DL for the Hittin’ Hornets of Harvard had an interception for a TD Friday night against the playoff bound Johnsburg Skyhawks. The ESPN worthy highlight went for 41 yards and rocked the home crowd.

Hall said, “The TD feels great but this is my last game as a senior. I grew up with all these guys, I’ll miss them.”

Johnsburg won 38-16 and head to Pontiac for a Halloween Eve 1st round match-up that kicks off at 7:00 PM. Good luck to Coach Dan DeBoeuf and his Skyhawks. It will DeBoeuf’s 1st playoff game. Harvards season is over. Congratulations to Coach Saylor’s team’s great yearlong effort.
